Missouri Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, who currently chairs the House Financial Services Committee’s national security subcommittee, announced he will be retiring at the end of his current term.
He has served in Congress since 2009 and came to Washington, D.C. as a former community banker and bank examiner. Luetkemeyer’s presence will surely be missed, as he’s been a staunch advocate for community banks and has introduced and co-sponsored several measures supported by ICBA and CBAI. In addition, he has pushed back against debit card routing restrictions and to mitigate the impact of the CFPB’s 1071 rule.
